Front And Rear Parking Sensors

I have just bought an 04 Galaxy with front and rear parking sensors. I have known the car all its life and until recently they have worked. The fault is a little different than others I have read.

 

I do not get any beep or sound when I engage reverse. The switch on the dashboard does not light up. There does not appear to be any sign of life in the entire circuit.

 

I have checked the fuses, according to the owners handbook, they are all ok.

 

Any ideas? Electics has never been my strong point.

The control unit for the park assist is under the passenger seat, if the car has suffered the water in the footwell syndrome the water will have got inside this unit with fatal results.
